Noble laureate writer Marquez no more

The Noble laureate Columbian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez breathed his last on Friday at the age of 87. He was born in 1927, Aracataca, Columbia. He started his career as a journalist. He is considered one of the greatest Spanish language authors, best known for his masterpiece of magical realism, One Hundred Years of Solitude. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.
He was popular all over the world. The US President Barack Obama said, "The world has lost one of its greatest visionary writers - and one of my favourites from the time I was young". Surely Garcia Marquez amazed the world with his unique gift of imagination and clarity of thought. His works, translated in English, are widely sold in Dhaka.
He is also very popular among the Bangladeshi readers. Many of his classics have been translated in Bangla. So, the Bangladeshi readers are also well aware of the greatness of this writer. Gabriel Garcia Marquez may have left this mortal world forever but his creation will never fade away and inspire people to read his magical world of
fiction.
