A two-week programme began on October 27 to raise awareness among women and men. The programme will provide free breast cancer screening and consultations at screening camps set up by BCFH with the support from Nokia in all six divisions in Bangladesh.
Different treatment plans will be offered at a subsidised fee as part of the programme.
In addition, Nokia will sponsor various TV programmes with renowned physicians to support the awareness of this disease. Sales proceeds from Nokia's newly launched Nokia 6300 crimson red phone will also contribute to this cause.
Nokia's support of breast cancer awareness comes at a time when there is tremendous lack of information about the disease and limited screening facilities, said the organiser at a press conference in the city arranged to launch this programme in the city.
