Nokia's set launching programme concludes in city

Nokia Bangladesh organised the grand finale of the launching programme of five phones, two classic devices and a premium handset at a city hotel Thursday.
The programme began on August 5 at Bogra.
The phones launched through the programme are - Nokia 1200, Nokia 1208, Nokia 1650, Nokia 2630, and Nokia 2760, Nokia 6500 classic and Nokia 6500 slide, and Nokia 8600 Luna.
These new products provide functions and features, specifically designed for the Bangladeshi consumers. Innovative phone-sharing technology, contemporary design and easy-to-use features combine in these mobile sets to empower the consumers in entry markets, said Nokia Emerging Asia General Manager Prem Chand.
During the occasion he also emphasised the contribution of mobile telecommunications to a country's GDP. He quoted a recent research, which concluded that a country's GDP increases 0.6 per cent for every 10 per cent increase in mobile penetration.
Mesbah Uddin, national sales manager, Sajid Matin, category manager, and Shabnam Huq, communications manager, also spoke on the occasion.
