Nominees for BSWA award announced

Bangladesh Sports Writers' Association (BSWA) has announced the nominees in six categories of sports for the year 2005 and 2006, reports UNB.
The categories are the best player, referee/umpire, sponsor, organiser, active association and player of the year.
The winners of the BSWA award in 2005 were Mohammad Sujon (football), Javed Omar Belim (cricket), Russell Mahmud Jimmy (hockey), Enamul Huq Jr. (young talent, cricket), Mollah Sabira Sultana (weightlifting), Taiyub Hasan Shamsuzzaman Babu (referee, football), Nurul Alam Chowdhury (organiser), Sirajul Islam Bachchu (special contribution to sports), Mousumi Industries Ltd (sponsor), Narayanganj DSA (active association) and Mohammad Ashraful (player of the year, SA Mohsin Trophy).
The winners of 2006 were Arif Khan Joy (football), Shahriar Nafees (cricket), Russell Khan Bappy (hockey), Shahjahan Ali Rony (swimming), Mizanur Rahman (Taekwondo), Siddiqur Rahman (golf), Rifat Bin Sattar (chess), Zahid Hasan Emily (young talent, football), Laboni Akhter Jui (swimming), Nadir Shah (umpire, cricket), Kutubuddin Ahmed (organiser), Ispahani Limited (sponsor), Kazi Alamgir (special contribution to sports) and Mashrafee Bin Mortaza (player of the year, SA Mohsin Trophy.
