Non-bonafide hide traders dominate Eid-ul Azha mkt

NILPHAMARI, Dec 26: Non-bonafide hide traders dominated the Eid-ul Azha skin and hide market of the district, sources said.
People from all walks of life, even the school students, participated in purchase and sales of hides and skins of the sacrificed animals on Eid day.
However, the price of raw hides of the sacrificed cows varied between Tk 1200 and Tk 1500 here, depending on size and quality of hides.
The price of goat skin varied between Tk 200 and Tk 300, depending on size and quality of skins.
Sources further said small hide traders could not preserve their collected hides due to sudden hike in price of salt.
In the situation, they were forced to sell their collected hides to the big merchants at comparatively low prices.
