Noor Hossain still VP of Siddhirganj AL unit

Noor Hossain, the prime accused in cases filed over abduction and murder of seven people in Narayganj last month, is still holding the post of the vice president of Siddhirganj unit of the ruling Awami League. Party insiders said the fugitive Ward 4 Councillor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) is holding the post even though the unit earlier decided unanimously to cancel his primary membership in the party. A leader of Narayanganj district unit AL wishing anonymity said Nur has been clinging on to the post about one month after the abduction and gruesome murder of 7 people including NCC Councillor and panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker on April 27, Nur went into hiding following filing a case accusing him as main suspect of the multiple-killings. Nur Hossain has reportedly fled to India a couple of days after the bodies of the seven men were recovered from Shitalakkha and Dhaleswari rivers in Narayanganj, according to a news agency.
