Nor\\\'wester toll peaks to 21

At least 13 people were found dead Sunday after nor'wester swept through Bogra, Manikganj, Sirajganj, Natore and Gaibandha districts Saturday, reports UNB.
In Bogra, the death toll from the violent storm reached 14 with nine more people found dead on Sunday.
Besides, power supply to the district remained snapped since Saturday night, as the storm damaged many electric poles apart from uprooting a large number of trees.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Shafiqur Reza said most of the casualties took place due to wall collapse, boat capsize and fall of tree branches during the storm.
Sources at the District Power Development Board (PDB) office said power supply to the district may resume on Monday.
In Manikganj, Sandhi Begum, 55, a widow, was killed when the roof of her tin-shed house collapsed on her during the storm in Daulatpur upazila on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Chapli Begum, 40, of Bangram in the upazila, was killed as a thunderbolt struck her amid rain around 4.0 pm on Sunday. In Gaibandha, a housewife was killed and over 100 houses were damaged during the storm that raged through different parts of the district Saturday. Sahana Begum, wife of Aminul Islam of Saghata upazila, went missing as a boat sank in the Jamuna River while she along with her husband was returning. Locals spotted the body of Sahana in the river on Sunday morning.
Besides, power supply in the district remained suspended since Saturday night as many electric posts were uprooted by the storm. In Sirajganj, two people were killed and another one went missing as a hailstorm lashed the district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Mozammel Haque, 55 of Pirgacha village, Fazlar Rahman, 45, son of Abdus Sabur of Durgapur village.
