Not a man of violence

Wow! That was precisely my exclamation after reading the fascinating and thought-provoking article on corporal punishment by Sir Frank Peters.
He, no doubt, is a man on a mission of great national importance who shoots strait from the hip, doesn't mince his words, and accurately says it as it ought to be said, as if he were a mind reader.
He wrote my thoughts with uncanny accuracy and with equal compassion and understanding as if he were the father of my three school-going children. It was impossible not to agree with him and he left no room for argument.
Like Sir Frank, I'm not a man of violence, but where the protection of my children is concerned, there is no limit; they mean the world to me.
Last year when I had read Sir Frank's campaign stories to outlaw corporal punishment in schools, I took the precaution of visiting the schools of my children, as he advised, and making it clear to the teaching staff that I would not tolerate corporal punishment. That I would view it as an assault on my child, a personal assault on me, and I would deal with it accordingly. The corporal punishment on my children ceased immediately.
I advise ALL parents to do as I did. I did not threaten the teachers, just made it known to them they would be answerable to me, if they assault my children.
