Not yesterday or tomorrow, concentrate on the present

FE Special | Sunday, 8 March 2009

CONCENTRATION is vital for every student. The more concentration one has, the better chance one has to perform in studies. Lack of full attention to studies is probably one of the main problems our students face.

Most of the time the attention of students remain on regretting the past or worrying about future. Their energy is wasted in this way. If they could focus on the present activity and try to utilize the best of today, they could do much better in studies.

It has been observed that whoever succeeded in life, paid attention to the activities of today. Throughout their life these concepts of 'focus on the moment' or 'live for today' have been a source of inspiration for them and this was the secret of their success.

How to utilize the best of today?

First, stop regretting for the past. You can never get those past days in your life. Why to waste present golden time in thinking about the past?

Second, stop worrying about the future. If you can take care of today, future will be good for you. Why waste today in worrying about the future? Remember that future depends much on what you do today and do well. How you utilize your time today will determine how your future will be.

Third, make a routine for today. Try to follow the best of the routine. Utilize every second, every minute, every hour. In this way it will be easier for you to utilze the best of today. The more you will be utilizing your every day, the less your mind will be regretting about the past and you worrying about future.

Fourth, start from now. Start with whatever you have, wherever you have. Sometimes students think: " Okay, I will start from tomorrow morning" or " I will start from the first of next month". Do not think so.

Fifth, review today's activities patiently before you go to bed. Learn from the mistakes. Make the next day a better one.
