Noted writer Sayeeda Zaman no more

Mrs Sayeeda Zaman, a noted writer, breathed her last at Square Hospital in the city Tuesday night (February 11, 2014). She was suffering from brain cancer.
Author of 20 books on poems, novels and research works, she got many literary awards for her works that include Madhusudan Award of West Bengal, Poet Jashimuddin Award, Palok Award etc. She was a life member of Bangla Academy, Asiatic Society and Bangladesh Itihash Parishad.
Mrs Zaman was the wife of Mr Shahiduzzaman Khan, Executive Editor of The Financial Express. She left behind two sons and a daughter.
The Qulkhwani of the deceased will be held at her residence in Hatirpool area after Asr prayers tomorrow (Friday). Relatives, friends and well-wishers are requested to attend the Qulkhwani of Mrs Zaman and pray for the salvation of her departed soul.
