NRBC Bank-DRU Scholarship Awarded to Children of Deceased Journalists

NRBC Bank, in collaboration with Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), has awarded scholarships to the children of journalists who died while in service, says a press release. Under the bank's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund, the children of 33 deceased DRU members will each receive an annual stipend of Tk 36,000 at a monthly rate of Tk 3,000. NRBC Bank is contributing a total of Tk 11.88 lakh to support the initiative. The scholarship cheques were handed over on Thursday at a ceremony held at the DRU auditorium. Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar attended the event as chief guest. NRBC Bank Deputy Managing Director and COO Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan, Head of Communication Md. Harun-or-Rashid, DRU President Abu Saleh Akon, General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, Welfare Secretary Rafik Mridha and other officials were also present.
