NRBC Bank observes 6th anniversary of Al-Amin Islamic Banking

NRBC Bank PLC has celebrated the 6th anniversary of the launch of its Shariah-compliant Al-Amin Islamic Banking window.
On Tuesday, a special prayer was held at the bank's head office to mark the occasion, says a press release.
Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, Syed Mohammad Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, attended the event as the chief guest. The event was presided over by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank, Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan. Among others present were Deputy Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Abdul Qaium Khan and Head of Al-Amin Islamic Banking Division Abdul Gofur Raana.
Al-Amin Islamic Banking window was launched on January 20, 2020, with the objective of providing Islamic banking services to customers. Currently, the bank has 109 branches and 415 sub-branches, and Islamic banking services are being provided through all branches and sub-branches of NRBC Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mohammad Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani said that through the Al-Amin Islamic Banking window, all types of Islamic banking services are being provided to customers in full compliance with Shariah principles. He added that necessary steps have been taken to further strengthen interest-free banking transactions based on profit-and-loss sharing with customers.
Managing Director and CEO Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan noted that deposits and investments through the Islamic banking window are increasing steadily. With the aim of building a just and equitable economic framework, the bank has undertaken special programmes to further expand and strengthen the activities of its Islamic banking window.
