NU approves Tk 1.1b budget

The National University (NU) approved Saturday a Tk 1.10 billion budget for the fiscal year 2010-11, putting development of information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, introduction of scholarship, establishment of regional centres in six divisions high on agenda.
The NU Syndicate at its 117th meeting approved the budget proposal, placed by the University's Treasurer Kazi Faruk Ahmed, said a press release.
Under the surplus budget, the total earnings of the NU have been earmarked at Tk 1099.47 million including Tk 185 million grant from the University Grants Commission while the expenditures of the university have been proposed to be Tk 1099.22 million for the fiscal year 2010-11, it mentioned.
