Number of mobile subscribers, netizens up

The number of mobile subscribers and netizens continued rising in March for the third consecutive month of growth as the industry added 1.28 new mobile SIM subscribers and 1.12 internet users in the month, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
The number of internet users has increased by 1.7 million in the first three months of the year, while 3.69 million mobile subscribers increased during the period.
The country now has over 183.89 million mobile SIM subscribers and 126.12 million internet users, according to the data of the BTRC.
This positive streak happened after losing some 3.5 million mobile subscribers and 2 million internet users in the latter half of 2022.
Of the total internet users, more than 114 million are mobile internet subscribers and 12 million are broadband users.
Currently, Grameenphone has 80.3 million mobile subscribers followed by 55.57 million Robi, 41.39 million Banglalink and 6.63 million Teletalk subscribers.
Except Teletalk, the number of subscribers of the other three operators has increased in the first three months of the year.
