Tuesday, 20 May 2014

Another case was filed against Narayanganj city councillor Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the seven-murder case, and five of his associates on charge of killing a schoolboy about eight years ago. Kazi Aktar Hossain, father of victim Tipu Sultan, filed the case with the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate HM Shafiqul Islam. Taking cognisance of the complaints, the court ordered the officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station to record the case. In his case statement, Aktar alleged that the accused demanded Tk 0.5 million to him on August 20, 2006. As their demand went unmet, they called his son Tipu Sultan, a Class-V student then, out of their house on August 26, strangulated him to death and dumped the body in the Shitalakkhya River, according to a news agency.
