Nur\\\'s aide held in Jessore

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel on Wednesday arrested an aide of Nur Hossain, the fugitive Narayanganj City Corporation Ward 4 Councillor, in connection with abduction and killings of seven people in Narayanganj. Police identified the arrestee as Hasmat Ali Hasu, cashier to Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven-murder case. BGB sources said they arrested Hasmat Ali from broder area in Sara upazila in Jessore district. Hasmat Ali was the third listed as accused in the case filed by the wife of Nazrul Islam, the Ward-2 councillor who along with 6 others was abducted and killed on April 27. When contacted the additional superintendent of police of Narayanganj district who is the convener of the probe committee investigating the incident, confirmed the arrest. Nur Hossain went into hiding a few days after the gruesome murders and there are speculations he might have fled to India, according to a news agency.
