Nursery business thriving in Sirajgonj

SIRAJGANJ, Feb 18: Nursery business is thriving in Sirajgonj district with a number of private nurseries that are being run at the town and in the rural areas.
Unofficial sources estimated some 350 nurseries have already been set up in different areas of the district. Various plants worth over Tk 20 million (2.0 crore) have been produced in these nurseries in a year. The number of nursery is rising day by day in eight upazilas of the district.
Over 1100 skilled and unskilled workers are engaged in the nurseries.
Flowers like rose, magnolia, jasmine, tulip, marigold, oleander and others bloom in these nurseries. Seeing the beauty of the nurseries people of any age group are delighted.
Owners of the nurseries supply flowers to Chittagong, Sylhet, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Rangpur and other districts of the country.
