Nurul Islam new LGED Chief Engineer

Consequent upon leave preparatory to retirement (LPR) of Md Shahidul Hassan, chief engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Md Nurul Islam has taken over as the new chief engineer of the LGED with effect from the afternoon of 27 August 2008.

Islam was born on December 30, 1951 at village Kachipara under Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali district. He received his graduation in Civil Engineering from Rajshahi Engineering College in 1975 and later did his Masters Degree in Irrigation Engineering from Southampton University, UK in 1988.

In 1993, he was promoted to the post of Superintending Engineer of LGED and performed as Head of Integrated Water Resources Management Unit of LGED. In 2007 he became the Additional Chief Engineer of LGED.
