NUS organises campaign for schizophrenia patients

Nari Unnayan Shakti (NUS) organised an awareness campaign for the schizophrenia patients at Banasree in the city Sunday. Schizophrenia survivors, their parents and local elite attended the campaign programme. Forum for Culture and Human Development and Fatema Kamal Foundation jointly supported the event.
NUS Chairman Sufia Begum presided over the programme while Executive Director of NUS Dr Afroja Parvin was present on the occasion. She said everybody should behave friendly with the patients with schizophrenia to reduce their sufferings, said a press release.
Rubina, a survivor of schizophrenia disease, shared her experience and sufferings. The mother of a schizophrenia patient Sajeda Begum urged the prime minister to extend government support to protect their rights and allocate monthly remuneration for their survival.
