Nuts, bolts removed from Cox's Bazar-Ctg rail track

COX'S BAZAR, Dec 02: Miscreants removed nuts and bolts of the railway line on the Cox's Bazar-Chattogram route which delayed the Cox's Bazar Express train's journey for half an hour on Saturday.
The incident occurred in Kahatia Para of Rashidnagar union under Ramu upazila of Cox's Bazar district.
Station master in charge of Cox's Bazar station Mohammad Golam Rabbani said that the Cox's Bazar Express left for Dhaka half an hour later because of this incident.
He further said, "We received information through government intelligence agencies. Later, the information was conveyed to all levels, including those of the Railway Department. After that, officials of railway engineering and construction companies immediately visited the spot", he added.
He said, "The construction workers started the repair work by reassembling the nuts and bolts of the railway line. After that, it was ready by 12:30pm for train communication".
But he could not confirm whether it was a mere theft or an act of sabotage.
OC of Ramu police station Abu Taher said that on information a police team along with administration officials visited the scene. Nuts and bolts of the railway line were found at the spot.
The police were investigating the incident, he added.
