Wage commission execution
NWF procession today
FE Report | Tuesday, 26 December 2017
National Workers Federation (NWF) will organise a red-flag procession today (Tuesday) to press home their different demands, including implementation of wage commission and others benefits.
They will hold the demonstration in front of National Press Club, according to a press statement.
In the statement, the leaders of the federation said although Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina allocated Tk 60 billion for the jute sector, the wages remained due for 9 to 11 weeks.
Besides, the wage commission is yet to be implemented.
The 20 per cent traveling allowance and daily allowance (TA-DA), announced on July 2013, has not been fully paid. They are also not getting profit of their provident fund.
The millers are forced to buy raw jute in the off season from the stockers by paying extra money, as the government did not allocate money in time, they added.
