Wednesday, 14 December 2011

The OFA (Old Faujians Association), Dhaka Chapter organised a get-together at the Cadet College Club Ltd in the city recently, according to a press release. Ex-cadets from FCC (Faujdarhat Cadet College) and their families attended the get-together. The programme was set in motion with fellowship while Ex-cadets' band 'Shomoy' entertained the crowd. Ceremonial mainstream started with a welcome speech from the newly elected President of OFA Dhaka Chapter, OFn Md Mahmoodul Haque from 8th batch. OFn Mahmood reminded that as the oldest Cadet College of the country, with the senior most students who occupy the top places in every sector of the country, had set standards for others to follow. That high standard of Faujians must be maintained in every area of a Faujian's life and in building the nation. He stressed the need to strengthen OFA fraternity and branding OFA to the nation. The nation should know that Faujians are a quality group who are capable of delivering the best. The programme got the real momentum with a nostalgic multimedia projection of group photographs of batches starting from 1958 and old time activities at the Faujdarhat Cadet College. Prior to that three deceased Faujians of the 1st & 2nd batches of 1958 and 1959 were honoured and remembered by inviting their close family members on stage and presenting them with beautiful plaque as a token of love and remembrance, the release added.
