A budget review meeting Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over poor performance of the local government and communication ministries, which were found to be lagging far behind their respective targets, official sources said.
Presided over by the finance secretary Mohammad Tareque, the review meeting, however, found the performance of the Ministry of Agricultural satisfactory.
The focus of the review meeting, first of its kind by the caretaker government, was on some 150 commitments and proposals made by finance and planning adviser Mirza Azizul Islam in the current fiscal budget, sources added.
The issues were identified by the MoF budget wing that will sit every month to review the implementation of the commitments and proposals made in this year's budget.
A review of the annual development programme (ADP) by the planning ministry will also be made, sources said.
