OIC chief meets President

President Abdul Hamid on Monday urged Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to support the government in establishing an Arabic language institute and a medical college in Bangladesh. "OIC can provide support to build the Arabic language institute and the medical college like it did in setting up the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur," he told visiting OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani who called on him at Bangabhaban. Welcoming the OIC Chief, the President affirmed that Bangladesh is committed to enhancing its solidarity with the Muslim Ummah and strengthening cooperation with Muslim countries under framework of OIC. The President and OIC Secretary General discussed issues related to Palestine, Rohignya refugees and Al-Aqsa, according to a news agency.
