OIC Secy General condemns BDR mutiny

OIC Secretary General Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu strongly condemned the February 25 BDR mutiny in Bangladesh that led to the tragic and brutal killing of a large number of officials of Bangladesh Army by 'some indisciplined mutinous paramilitary personnel,' reports UNB.
In a message addressed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Saturday, he conveyed his sincere condolences and sympathies to members of the bereaved families and expressed the OIC's solidarity with the people of Bangladesh in sharing their national grief.
He also expressed his deep appreciation for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership in bringing about a quick and successful end of the 'unwarranted and condemnable incident.'
The chief executive of the forum of Muslim countries expressed his confidence that 'the people of Bangladesh would be able to overcome this traumatic experience with courage and forbearance and to move forward in the way of continued peace, progress and stability in the days ahead.'
