Workers Party of Bangladesh (WPB) president Rashed Khan Menon said on Saturday the newly-floated Jatiya Oikya Front's main aim is to make the upcoming national polls questionable, reports BSS.
"They (Oikya Front leaders) know very well that their seven-point demand is unacceptable. In spite of this, they are trying to create confusion among people. We have to make the polls peaceful and undisturbed," he said.
Menon, also social welfare minister, said these while addressing a meeting to brief party leaders, who are going to contest in the upcoming polls, in capital's Paltan area this morning.
At the start of the meeting, WPB general secretary Fazle Hossain Badshah briefed everyone about the overall situation marking the election, saying, "Workers Party would join polls under the 14-party alliance."
He urged the party leaders and activists to inform people about the development activities carried out by the government in the past ten years.
Party politburo member Anisur Rahman Mollik and parliamentary board member Kamrul Ahsan addressed the meeting, among others.
