Oil prices drop

Monday, 10 March 2014

Global oil prices fell Monday as weak Chinese trade data stoked concerns over demand in the world's top energy consuming nation, analysts said. New York's main contract, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for delivery in April, sank $1.40 cents to $101.18 a barrel. Brent North Sea crude for April fell 96 cents to stand at $108.04 a barrel in London late morning deals compared with Friday's close. "The sharp decline in Chinese exports in February is fuelling fears that the global economy could be slowing down," said Commerzbank analyst Carsten Fritsch, according to AFP.
