Oil spill: Damage already done for a longer term
Saturday, 13 December 2014
Though four days have elapsed since the huge oil spill after the crash of an oil tanker in the Shela River of the Sundarbans, removal of the oil-slick remains very negligible and experts fear the damage is already done for a longer term due to ‘late response’ of the authorities. The oil slick is gradually nearing the coastal part of the Sundarbans in addition to spreading over the remotest of the creeks on the way, according to local people and environment experts who visited the affected areas on Saturday, according to a news agency.
