Detective police have pressed charges against Oishee Rahman, accusing her of killing her parents. Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch Inspector Abu Al Khair, in charge of investigating the case, said he had submitted the charge-sheet in a court. Besides Oishee, her friends Jony and Rony and housemaid Sumi have also been accused of conniving to murder in the charge-sheet. Oishee’s parents, Special Branch Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and homemaker Swapna Begum, were found stabbed to death in their apartment in Dhaka’s Chamelibagh on August 16, 2013. Oishee, who went missing and then surfaced mysteriously to surrender to police, is the prime suspect. Police later arrested housemaid Khadiza Khatun Sumi and Oishee’s friends Mizanur Rahman Rony and Asaduzzaman Jony. Sumi has been charged as an accomplice and the two friends have been accused of providing shelter to Oishee, Khair said. Oishee and her friends are now in jail while Sumi is being kept in a women’s cell at Dhaka Central Prison-2 at Kashimpur in Gazipur, according to bdnews24.com.
