Old man beaten to death by grandson

COMILLA, Dec 2 (UNB): An old man was beaten to death allegedly by his grandson over a land-related dispute at Baro Dharmapur village in Sadar (South) upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Humayun Kabir, a resident of the same village.
Prashanta Pal, officer-in-charge of Sadar (South) Police Station, said Kabir had a longstanding conflict over a piece land with his grandson Muktadir Hossain Manjil.
On Monday morning, Kabir locked into an altercation with Manjil over the issue.
At one stage, Manjil hit Kabir on the head with a stick, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, he died on way to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
