Old man electrocuted, 4 boys injured

A septuagenarian man died from electrocution and four boys were injured at Begunbari in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Emaz Uddin, 70, a resident of Karnakhali Mirzapur village in Shibganj upazila. Witnesses said a live electric wire abruptly got snapped and fell down on the building of a local mosque while there were going on Juma prayers at about 1:10pm. At one stage, Emaz Uddin came in touch with the electric wire while going to attend prayers and died on the spot. Four boys, including Sohel, 10, Shaheen, 12, Aminul, 11, and Al-Amin, 7, were injured during the incident. They were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Abbas Uddin, assistant superintendent of police, confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
