Olympic Day-Run held in six divisional cities

With the slogan `Pollution-free society through sports', the Olympic Day Run was held in the city Saturday along with the other five divisional cities in the country, reports UNB.
Health and Family Welfare Adviser Major General (retd) Dr ASM Motiur Rahman formally inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Olympic Asso-ciation (BOA) Secretary General Kutubuddin Ahmed and organising Secretary of Olympic Day Run committee Mizanur Rahman Manu were, among others, present on the occasion.
Organised by BOA, the rally began at 7:30 am from the Ramna Tennis Court Complex and terminated at the Bangabandhu National Stadium after passing Ramna Park, High Court and Paltan crossing.
Private satellite channel ATN Bangla, as media partner of BOA, telecast live the three-kilometres rally participated by about 4,000 sports organisers and sports lovers. Later, certificates were distributed among those who joined the Run.
Earlier, before the start of the Run, a one-minute silence was observed in memory those killed in the devastating cyclone `Sidr' that ripped through south and southwestern region of the country.
