A middle aged man was beaten to death at Khilgaon in the capital Tuesday by his nephews during an arbitration over land dispute, the police said. The deceased was identified as Salah Uddin (50). A sub-inspector of Khilgaon police station said Salahuddin sat on adjudication at the residence of his elder brother at Bepari Para of Trimohoni to settle a longstanding land dispute with his sisters. At one stage of discussion, three nephews of Salahuddin -- Jalil, Karim and Khalil -- got angry and started beating him that left him seriously injured. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead soon after admission. The police officer said they have been conducting drives to arrest the killers who fled the scene soon after the incident.
