One bill, one ordinance placed in JS

Aingata Sahayata Pradan (amendment) Bill 2011 and Dhaka Elevated Expressway Project (land acquisition) Ordinance-2011 were placed in the House Sunday, reports BSS. Aingata Sahayata Pradan (amend) Bill 2011 has been placed in the House with a view to making the existing provision of giving poor litigants more intensive and consolidated support to help them to get justice in an effective manner. Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed placed the bill and the ordinance as the budget session of the House began with Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate in the chair. The minister said the Aingata Sahayata Pradan (amendment) Bill 2011 has proposed amendment to the Aingata Sahayata Pradan Act-2000 aimed at strengthening the National Legal Assistance Sangstha and its district committees. The bill was sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for scrutiny and to report back to the House within the next three weeks.
