One burnt alive, 4 shops gutted in Trishal fire

MYMENSINGH, June 13 (UNB): A shop owner was burnt alive and four shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Trishal Upazila Bazar here early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mahbub (20), owner of a cotton shop.
Local people said the fire erupted at the shop of Mahbub at about 3.00 am and soon engulfed the nearby cotton and stationery shops.
On information, fire fighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire after an hour of hectic efforts with the help of local people.
However, the reason behind the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
The affected shop owners claimed that cash and valuables worth Tk 1.0 million (10 lakh) were gutted in the fire.
