One dies in Comilla BCL infighting

One person has been shot dead in a clash between activists of two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Comilla unit. BCL is the student wing of ruling Awami League. The infighting erupted into violence in the Munsef Bari area in the district town around 1pm on Thursday, said Sadar Police Station OC Khorshed Alam. Ahsan Habib Samu, 35, was the nephew of local MP AKM Bahauddin Bahar. The clash was between supporters of BCL leaders Saleh Ahmed Russel and Johirul Islam Rintu. Samu sustained bullet wounds when he tried to stop them. He was rushed to Comilla Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, the OC said, according to bdnews24.com.
