One drowns in Bholahat pond

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 07 (BSS): One person was killed by drowning in the river Mohananda at Bholahat in Chapainawabganj district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was Mamun, 32, son of Md. Santu of Jadunagar village under Bholahat union of Bholahat upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Police and local sources said Mamun went to the river Mohananda to take a bath at noon and suddenly drowned.
On information, a rescue team of Fire Service and Civil Defense from Bholahat rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body at around 2 pm. However, the body was taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the physician on duty confirmed the death.
Inspector (Investigation) of Bholahat Thana Iqbal Pasha and leader of Bholahat Fire Service Md Farid Uddin confirmed this.
