One gets death sentence, another life for murder in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Sept 10 (UNB): A court here on Wednesday sentenced a young man to death and another to life term imprisonment for killing a fish trader in 2009.
The condemned convict was identified as Mansur Ali, 30, son of late Kalachand of Raghabaria village in Ullapara upazila while the lifer as Shahidul, 32, son of Abdul Majid of Dariapur Khapara village in Shahjadpur upazila. The court also fined them TK 20,000 each.
According to the prosecution, Abdul Kuddus Bepari, 45, of Dariapur village in Shahjadpur upazila went missing on November 4, 2009.
Later, he was found dead on a field at Laxmipur village in Ullapara upazila on November 7, 2009.
The deceased's wife, Bulbuli, filed a case against three people in this connection.
After examining records and witnesses, additional district and sessions' judge-2 Fazle Khoda Mohammad Nazir handed down the verdict acquitting another accused as allegation brought against him could not be proved.
