One held over Khilgaon killing

Police have arrested a man suspected to be involved in Thursday's shooting in Dhaka that had left a man wounded and his son dead. Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Saidur Rahman said that one 'Siraj', 30, was arrested from the capital's Khilgaon area Saturday night. "A portion of the looted money has been found with him," said the police official. ADC Rahman claimed Siraj was a 'professional mugger' and that he owned several houses in Dhaka. Sharif Hossain Simon, 28, and his father Israil Hossain, 58, were attacked on Thursday evening near Khilgaon's Goran Fire Station by bike-borne assailants. The father and son, who ran a money exchange business in Motijheel, were carrying Tk 4.8 million. Three assailants shot at them and took away the money. Israil was shot in both legs and an arm while Simon took a shot in the chest, according to bdnews24.com.
