One held over Khilgaon murder

Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested a man from the city's Khilgaon area on Sunday evening for his alleged involvement in the Thursday night's snatching incident killing a youth and injuring his father in the same area, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Siraj, 50, a resident of the area.
DB sources said tipped off, a team of plainclothes police launched a drive in the area in the evening and arrested Siraj.
Police said Siraj, owner of several houses in Khilgaon area, allegedly used to give shelter to terrorists.
According to police investigation, muggers took shelter in a building of Siraj after snatching Tk 35 lakh from the youth. They also gave Tk 0.5 million to Siraj as commission for giving them shelter.
Police recovered Tk 0.5 million from his possession.
On September 4, muggers opened fire on money exchange trader Israel Hossain, 55, and his son Sharif Hossain Saimon, 32, and looted Tk 35 lakh from them in capital's Khilgaon area, leaving Saimon dead.
Mazibur Rahman, uncle of deceased Sharif Hossain, filed a case with Khilgaon Police Station against 3-4 unidentified muggers.
