One held with 16 gold bars at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Apr 9 (UNB): A man was arrested with 16 gold bars, weighing 1.866 kilograms, at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong Wednesday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Azizul Monir Mahfuz (35), a resident of Samitir Hat village in Fatikchhari Upazila of the district.
Mashiur Rahman Mandal, assistant commissioner (Customs) at the airport, said a flight of Bangladesh Biman 'BG046' from Dubai landed at the airport at around 10:30am.
Being tipped off, a team of customs officials searched the body of Mahfuz, who arrived at the airport by the flight of Bangladesh Biman, and recovered the gold bars from his possession and from the soles of his shoes at around 10:45am.
