One killed, 12 injured in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ, Mar 9: One person was killed and 12 others were critically injured in a bus accident on Gopalganj-Tekerhat Highway at Baulatali under Gopalganj Sadar upazila Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Khalasi (13), a student of Govt. Shishu Paribar of Gopalganj town and son of Seken Khalasi of village Bamondanga under Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj.
According to the police and eye witnesses, a local passenger bus Bhaskar Paribahan was coming to Gopalganj from Tekerhat. When the bus reached near Baulatali area under Sadar upazila, the driver lost control of the steering and skidded off the road into the Madaripur-Beel Root (MBR) canal.
The critically injured Ibrahim Khalasi (10), son of Seken Khalasi, Selim (45), son of Rahman, Prashanto Baidya (38), son of Subol Baidya, Bipul Biswas (28), son of Gokul Biswas, Tanzil (20), son of Haider Ali, Dinobandhu Saha (50), son of Sachindranath Saha, Munzur Sheikh (30), son of Akter Sheikh, Asharaf Ali (52), son of Abdul Kader, Shamim (28), son of Abdus Salam, Ikbal (30), Sekendar Hawlader (42) & Mithun Halder (25) were admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.
