One killed, 2 injured in road accidents

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jun 23 (UNB): A schoolboy was killed in a road accident at Kharakpur in Shibganj upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Faisal, 11, a student of class VI of Dhobra High School and son of Darul Islam, a resident of Kharakpur village.
Sub-inspector Abul Kalam Azad of Shibganj Police Station said the accident took place when a lorry crushed into a bicycle Faisal was riding in the area around 8:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
A BSS report says: Two BGB jawans were injured in Shamlagachi area on the Jessore-Benapole highway under Sharsha upazila of the district on Sunday.
Police said the injured BGB jawans were Nabin Chakma, 26, and Matiur Rahman, 38.
Lt Col Mostafizur Rahman, Commanding Officer of 23 BGB Battalion, said the accident took place when a truck collided head-on with a BGB pickup van in Shamlagachi area around 5 pm.
Following the accident, Nabin and Matiur were seriously injured. Locals immediately admitted to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH)in Dhaka.
