One killed, 25 injured in Cox's Bazar road mishap

COX'S BAZAR, July 22 (UNB): A man was killed and 25 others injured in a head on collision between a bus and a microbus near Ukhia T&T office on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf highway Saturday morning.
Witnesses said the Cox's Bazar-bound bus collided with the Teknaf-bound microbus in the morning killing the microbus driver on the spot and injuring 25 passengers of both the vehicles.
The injured were admitted to Ukhia Health Complex and Sadar Hospital.
Another report from Pabna adds: Vehicular movement on Pabna-Nagarbari highway remained halted for around two hours Saturday following a road accident that killed a schoolgirl at Dulai bazar under Sujanagar Upazila in the morning.
Witnesses said a speeding coach ran over Kona (10), a class five student of Dulai High Shool, near the school while she was crossing the road at about 10:30 am, killing her on the spot.
Angered by the incident students of the school put barricade on the road halting vehicular movement for around two hours.
Another message from Madaripur adds: A schoolboy was crushed under the wheels of a bus in Gopalpur Kundubari area of Kalkini Upazila Saturday afternoon.
Police said Alam (9), son of Abdul Kader Sarder of south Gopalpur, died on the spot when a Dhaka-bound bus ran over him at about 1:30 pm while he was crossing the road.
The killer bus fled away soon after the incident.
