One killed in city road crash

A worker was killed and four other people injured when a goods-laden truck overturned at Dhaka’s Mohakhali on Monday. Police identified the victim as Abdur Rahman, 42, hailing from Rajshahi’s Putia Upazila. Sub-Inspector Shafiul Azam of Banani police station said the truck, loaded with paper, was heading for Dhaka’s Nayabazar from Tongi of Gazipur. “Around 5:30am, the truck overturned after hitting a road divider near the ‘Setu Bhaban’, located close to the Mohakhali flyover. “Five workers were injured in the accident,” he said, adding that doctors pronounced Rahman dead on arrival at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The truck was left on the street for a while leading to traffic congestion on the busy street, according to bdnews24.com.
