One killed in Gaibandha clash over land

GAIBANDHA, Dec 25 (UNB): A man was killed and 10 other people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over the ownership of a piece of land at Sadarpur village in Sadullahpur upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Saiduzzaman, a resident of the village.
Police said when Akbar Ali of the village went to cultivate a disputed land, Mohammad Ali of the village and his supporters obstructed him, leading to a clash.
Both groups attacked each other with sticks and local weapons, leaving 12 people injured. Police recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
