One killed over land dispute in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Feb 11 (UNB): A man was killed and another injured in an attack by his rivals over a land dispute at Taragona village in Gobindaganj upazila on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as Babul Mia of the village.
Police said Babul Mia and Nurul Islam of Kochashahar village had long been at loggerhead over the possession of a plot of land.
As a sequel to the enmity, Rubel and Russel, sons of Nurul Islam, allegedly swooped on Babul Mia's house and stabbed Babul and his son Wahedul Islam indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured. Babul Mia died on the way to hospital.
