One killed over land dispute in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, Sept 25: One person was killed over a land dispute at Kazulia village under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila of the district yesterday (Wednesday).
The deceased was identified as Prohllad Mondal (20), student of second year of Khanjahan Ali Science & Technology University, Khulna, and son of Ramesh Mondal of village Kazulia under Gopalganj Sadar Upazila in Gopalganj district.
Deceased's family sources said, on Puja vacation Prohllad came to his residence at Kazulia to celebrate coming Durga Puja. On the day of occurrence his neighbour Hingul Daria and his supporters picked up Prohllad from his residence over a previous enmity, related to a disputed land and seriously injured him.
On information police recovered his hanging deadbody from a house. The body was later sent to Gopalganj hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Gopalganj P.S. in this connection. Hingul Daria with his family members was absconding.
