One killed, three injured in road mishaps in Comilla

COMILLA, Sept 1 (UNB): A day-labourer was killed and three others injured when a bus ran over them, which was hijacked by the miscreants at Monohorpur in the town Saturday morning.
Witnesses said bus driver Rafiq got down from the bus leaving the bus at Kandirpar to find out its superviser. Taking this advantage, an unknown hijacker tried to escape the scene with the bus.
At one stage, the miscreant lost control over the steering and the bus hit four day-labourers, who were unloading bricks from a truck beside the road, leaving one of them dead on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Rabiul Hossain. The injured were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Local people caught the hijacker when the bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Baltupar, on the outskirts of the town, and handed him over to the police.
