One killed, two injured in road accident

One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Kali Bazar area under Madaripur Sadar upazila on Monday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rafiqul Islam Matbar – a former police personnel. Rafiqul is the son of late Jalil Uddin of Uttar Shirkhara village of the upazila. Sub Inspector (SI) of Madaripur Sadar police station M Sultan Mahmood said two speeding vehicles collided head-on leaving three people, including Rafiqul Islam, injured. Local people rescued the injured and whisked them off to the Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared Rafiqul Islam, dead, according to a news agency.
